About NIUonline	English (USA)
The NIU Online listserv has been developed in response to requests from NIU faculty as a place to discuss and explore techniques, solutions, and share general information on using technology in their online and face-to-face teaching. Faculty are encourage to use this listserv as a means for sharing ideas to improve the online teaching and learning experiences they offer their students. General discussion will emphasize the pedagogical issues surrounding online teaching, including student and faculty readiness to teach and learn online. Faculty are also encouraged to share their experiences, online teaching tips, and most successful assignments. These topics may be supplemented by attention to technical concerns such as: using Blackboard learning management system, content management, podcasting, multimedia, blogging, gaming and multi-user virtual environments. The list is not designed to be a mode for Blackboard technical support. If you have a technical issue with Blackboard, please do NOT post it to the listserv but rather call 815.753.8100 or email helpdesk@niu.edu so that a trouble ticket can be opened and you can receive prompt assistance. Subscribing to NIUonline
Subscribe to NIUonline by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
